Young Producers’ Training

Effervescent worked for twelve months to train a group of Young Creative Producers for bCreative CIC, Bristol.  Activities included taking the group to the V&A, Tate Modern, Covent Garden and Bristol Old Vic to develop their knowledge and criticality; workshops on user consultation, project management, designing creative activities; and an eight-day creative group activity leading to an installation at BoomFest, Weston Super Mare, in June 2013.

Transformation: Young people developed considerably, and were all able to complete their paid contracts as Young Producers with bCreative.  Participants noted that they had taken more creative risks than they would have otherwise been able to; developed a more rounded knowledge of arts and critical theories; engaged in activities that they would not normally have considered; and developed their practical artform skills and general sense of self-esteem, personal responsibility, and courage.
