Effervescent is currently working with young people who have survived, or continue to survive, challenging life experiences.

Over a period of nine months, a group of eight young curators and young producers have researched, devised, and collaborated with professional artists to design and build a live art performance called POISON, which will happen durationally in Radiant Gallery, Derrys Cross, Plymouth daily between 10am and 7pm.

We are seeking a team of performers with a specialism in physical theatre who will take shifts over the month to play one lead character.

The lead character spends approximately half of their time inactive and hidden from sight, but the other half of their time being presented silently to the gallery audience. The lead character wears a costume which restricts some movement and may require great care to move in (it is currently being built)

We seek performers who have a playing range of 13 – 18 years old. Applications from people of all genders are welcomed and the piece is not gender specific.

Professional performers, and young people currently in performance training, are welcome to apply and all will be paid equally.

Shift patterns are 10am to 2pm and 2.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday. During each shift the performer will be required to stay in character and be in the gallery continually.
