It was a great eye opener and gave me confidence, perseverance and helped me make some new friends and understand people a lot better. Thank you very much for the pleasure of creating a movie and I can't wait to see the outcome Dave, Young Participant
I had an amazing time and would love to do it again Young Participant
We would be more than happy to run this and other projects with the Museum in the future as the quality of the learning taking place has been excellent. Learners were clearly engaged and there was 100% attendance on the programmes. Gareth Walton, Plymouth Learning Partnership, City College

We are delighted that we found Effervescent to work with us as lead artists on this project. They worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone involved got as much as they could out of the work and often managed to push people way out of their comfort zones to tackle the topic head on. Joanne Gray, Community Outreach Officer, Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery
It was a very good show, absolutely enjoyed it. I'm very proud of my son Sam. Well done to everyone involved. Participant's mum
The end result was brilliant. The confidence built in individual young people has helped us [as a youth service] a great deal. Showing young people a different, more creative, way of looking at things was brilliant and something they will take with them. The young people were surprised they achieved so much. Hannah Jordan, Youth Worker
Awesomely cool and amazingly beautiful Young Participant

The London trip to see the Wellcome collection was great Young Participant
It was lovely to see museum artefacts being used to spark some hilarious conversations between the two generations that took part in the project. Sex was clearly a topic everyone had a lot to talk about! Julia Beazer, Community Outreach, Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery
Amazing - and the young people were absolutely terrific. It really made me think about so many things and I felt I was part of something that was really worth being part of. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much. Annie, older participant
It was really fun with your Gr8 experience and incredibly organized - just one word u r lovely ellie :)x thanks for giving us this experience !! x Kahase and Walter, Young Participants
Having previously co-funded Effervescent's work, I knew what they did was unique. Now, having been involved in my own small way in actually delivering this project, I can see the final pieces, impressive as they are, are only the tip of the iceberg. If you want to truly work collaboratively with people, this is the way to do it. Ray White, co-commissioner of Lust in Translation
I loved it, every moment...would love to carry it on, too, if that were possible? Ben, Young Participant
The event was wonderful! Beautiful and moving - you should be proud. I looked at the train station a whole new way this morning. Mia Gilson, Independent Arts Professional
I didn't think I would enjoy it so much. This project helped me become more confident because I used to be very shy with people I don't know. I never thought I'd do something like this. I had best few weeks ever and I'm really glad I took part in it. :) I want to say big thanks to everyone we were working with, u r amazing guys. Unforgettable experience: D" Agata, Young Participant
The Lust in Translation project was absolutely awesome and the finished pieces from all groups of young people you worked with were amazing. On the night you could see the amount of ownership, pride and enthusiasm for their achievements. The room was buzzing and that gave us all a big smile!! Cracking work. Incredible talent. Brilliant concept. Anonymous comment from the private view
The private view was fantastic: a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The films were brilliant, very moving I thought and I was hungry to know more about the background to them. (I would love to have been a fly on the wall at some of the workshops!!) We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the balloons, knickers, bed and yummy cakes so thank you. Hilarious, entertaining and educating. Anonymous comment from the private view
This is a great example of why and how to push the boat out and to try something 'risky' to achieve something creatively unforgettable. The quality piece of work that the young people produced with your creativity, support and guidance is unique. Hannah Jordan, Team Leader - Plyms Youth Work Team
Inspired and inspirational. I hope to see it develop in the future. Anonymous comment from the private view
We loved writing the music for the Lust in Translation project. It was beautiful, painful, intense, exciting and overall a wonderful piece of work. Much love Rainy Days Project
Sharks, bubbles, cake and balloons. All the things that turn me on. Plus beautiful films. I love it! I'm over excited now! Anonymous comment from the private view
I think you have safely and very powerfully unlocked some creative juices that weren't there before. Work like this with young people is important as it helps them to think about the society in more depth, to see where they can contribute, to personally take those risks and to reach their potential. In every young person in our group we can see how this project has developed and moved them to a different place. Hannah Jordan, Team Leader - Plyms Youth Work Team
I talked to the lovely couple at the private view who had been married for 56 years and her balloon read 'Not in the Mood'. As she left she said to me she might cover up the 'Not'!!! Kathryn Slater, Marketing and Communication Specialist
Epic, what a performance. A fantastic range of ideas and images. Thanks to Ellie for all her guidance. Anonymous comment from the private view
Wonderful experience! Ellie is an inspiration to me as a teacher. The young people enjoyed every minute. Thank you Effervescent. Keep doing what you are doing. What you've done for these young people is amazing! Charlotte Williams, City College Plymouth
Great! I'm a real fan of intergenerational sex-related evenings in large groups in a fishy location. And it's free! Seriously, a great project. Well done, you've clearly touched a lot of people! Anonymous comment from the private view
To see how the group developed through the sessions and how the group dynamics changed and relationships within the group became stronger evidences the success of the work. As the project progressed the young people not only showed commitment to the project but they expressed how much they were enjoying it and looked forward to seeing the end result. Kelly Davidson, City College Plymouth
Brilliant event. Loved balloons. Love platter. Art of Seduction brings young and old together. Anonymous comment from the private view
Wonderful! Well done. I am going to show the films to everyone I know. Can't wait for more. Anonymous comment from the private view
I thought the activity with the bed was the highlight of the sessions and worked really well as the young people really enjoyed this and were all comfortable participating. They've all had a really good time. It's built the relationship I have with them and has made them more aware of the student centre and student liaison team. To see what the young people achieved has given me great job satisfaction. I hope that we can work on another project together. Kelly Davidson, City College Plymouth
Fun balloons, yummy cake, dolls head so cool, great films. The next morning was so moving. Love is a positive scar. The Art of Seduction was so cool. Anonymous comment from the private view

The quality of the end films pays testament to all their energies and it clearly raises the bar in the quality of youth arts. We look forward to working with them again in the future, wherever that may take us! Joanne Gray, Community Outreach Officer - Plymouth Museum and Art Gallery
